Thursday's fall sitting at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building was an emotional one for all who attended, as this was the last legislative assembly for Premier Brad Wall before his retirement.

Even with this distraction, business had to go on in the building. During legislature, it was decided that amendments will will be made to increase the amount of income a small business can make before getting bumped into another tax bracket.

"The NDP voted against it without proposing any alternatives," said Moose Jaw North MLA Warren Michelson. "It was important to look after business to create the economy that we need to grow in this province and this piece of legislation helps small business pay less taxes and improves the economy for the province."

Not only did they manage that, they were also able to touch the issue of climate change and the proposed carbon tax.

"We've introduced the Made-in-Saskatchewan Climate Change plan that has the support of our municipalities and some of our large businesses across the province." said Moose Jaw Wakamow MLA Greg Lawrence. "It's something that the NDP actually asked for over and over and over again and then they voted against it because they want a carbon tax."

Even though it was a productive day, it was also an emotional one, as many said goodbye to the Premier, who was not only a leader to some, but also a good friend.

"It will definitely be different," added Lawrence. "You know, he is a once in a life time politician who, as an orator, I think is second to none and I truly believe he is the best premier this province has ever seen so far."

Saskatchewan MLA's are now heading back to their home ridings to prepare not only for a new year, but a new leader.
