A milestone that friends and family of Dylan Koshman never wanted to see.

It's been ten years since Koshman has been seen by anyone and it doesn't appear that investigators are getting any closer to finding out answers for his loved ones.

Koshman was raised in Moose Jaw and moved to Edmonton in 2008 to become a pipefitter. While living with the family at the time, there was an altercation on the night of October 11th, and since then no one has seen a trace of the young man.

"He got into a match with his cousins, was thrown out of the house and we haven't seen him since," explained his father, Dan Koshman.

Each year on Thanksgiving the parents, siblings and other family members of Koshman head up to Edmonton to try and get more information as to what happened the night he disappeared. His father said since the most recent visit to Alberta no new information has come to light and there wasn't an update by investigators.

"Nothing that they've been able to really tell us. They've just told us that they're working on any leads that they get, they're staying on top of it. It's an open case with the Edmonton Police and it's in homicide now."

After well over eight years as being considered a missing person case, officers revealed that they were classifying it as a homicide going forward.

Despite the switch by police Koshman's father said there isn't much they or anyone else can do to help this move along with investigators.

"They're continuing their course of action. We just go up to try and find out what's going on, as can be expected they can't tell us too much, but they just reassure us that they're working on it. We're not sure what anyone can do aside from keeping him in your thoughts."

With hope for answers in their hearts, family friends have been hosting a candle-lit vigil in Koshmans honour each year on the day of his disappearance. Thursday evening Koshman's friends and family will gather again on the 10 year anniversary and light candles in Moose Jaw at the oval in Wakamow Valley. Those wishing to show support for the family and participate in the vigil are asked to be in Wakamow at 7 pm.
