On September 27th, 2018 Kindersley RCMP received a call that a one-month-old infant was in cardiac arrest.

First responders and doctors at the local hospital attempted life-saving procedures. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and the child was pronounced deceased.

An autopsy was conducted the following day to determine the cause of death. In a release provided by the RCMP, we can report that the autopsy revealed information that lead investigators to believe the infant's death was suspicious in nature.

Due to the development, RCMP major crimes took over the investigation.

On Wednesday, investigators arrested a Kindersley woman, Teenie Rose Steer. The 28-year-old is now facing second-degree murder charges in relation to the death of the child. The accused is the mother of the deceased.

Steer's first court appearance has been scheduled for Thursday morning at Provincial Court in Rosetown.
