The 14th annual Journey to Hope Walk brought in $28,649 over the weekend in support of Suicide Awareness and Prevention. 

The annual event focusing on Hope, Healing and Honouring took place Saturday at the Crescent Park Aphitheatre. 

Under the theme of Healing, local high school student Brittnee Prettyshield shared her own journey and voice as she performed the song "Rise Up" for the crowd that gathered together on Saturday.

Speaking to the theme of Honouring was Jess Zoerb who shared in honour of her sister.

Brett Hagan who organized a "Ruck It Up" fundraiser in the community this past June spoke about Hope as he shared his own journey. 

The Journey to Hope team also shared the work that they have done over the past year in our community, this is some of what the team sponsored in the past year:

- Sponsored training for suicide awareness prevention

- Launched Voices of Hope, Voices of Recovery and Hope Collective podcasts

- Hosted Hope Summit

- Hosted virtual Survivors of Suicide Day

- Donated to MJ Pride welcome centre

- Funded training program for MJ Family Services

- Sponsored program with John Howard Society

- Sponsored student bursary called "Journey to Hope, Hope Ambassador Award"

- Sponsored a mental health screening program in both the Prairie South and Holy Trinity Catholic School Divisions
