Journey to Hope will be hosting a Fundraising Walk for Suicide Awareness and Prevention Saturday.

A spokesperson for the event, Della Ferguson, details how the day will pan out.

"10 AM we are going to start with music by Emily Steinhauer and Kelly Lin. We're going to have a mural that people can help paint, then at 10:30 we have a program that is themed with hope, healing and honouring."

"Its a time to come together as a community to bring hope, to set our intentions for the year, and to connect."

People are invited to take a reflective walk through Crescent Park before or after the event to view the signs around the upper circular pathway.

All funds raised through the event will go toward Suicide Awareness and Prevention work in Moose Jaw and surrounding area.

"Its so important that we lift up the names, that we continue telling the stories of those who have died so that we can feel connected with them forever, and know that that relationship continues in a new way and that the love of that person and the inspiration of their life is still a part of us."
