There's new problems with the roll out of the new Canada Post community mail boxes.  Word started to get around on the weekend that keys being delivered for the individual boxes... can actually open more than one private box.

Garry Blanchard found out when he was checking on the key he received.

"I contacted Canada Post and the lady gave me a confirmation number and told me that (the issue) would be high priority and someone from Canada Post would contact me Monday morning. I went down the re and nothing has changed."

Blanchard, who is a retired military police officer, was checking out his neighborhoods community mail box after receiving his private key in the mail.

"I wanted to confirm that my key would open (the mail box) and I opened my mail box. Out of curiosity, I tried another box with my key and it opened. On my way back ironically, I saw another lady standing on the lawn, so I informed her of my findings and she asked what box, so I told her and she said that it was her box."

There are reports from other cities in Canada of keys opening multiple mailboxes as well.

Blanchard says he's worried that people could have access to private information.

"Other people could open their mail. If your mail starts going missing, you'll know why. Privacy is always a big concern, especially in this day of modern media and all these devices."

Blanchard says Canada Post has not responded to his initial report and the mail box has not been fixed.

Our calls to Canada Post were transferred to their media relations department but so far, no response.
