Moose Jaw residents and visitors alike might notice lots of classic cars on city streets as The International Antique Car Convention roars into town.

Paul Snell, Chair of the Regina Antique Auto Association said it's been a few years since our city hosted last.

"It has been held here before, we hosted it in '09 and it was a real hit!  We had a good turnout of people and they loved it and we like Moose Jaw, too because of the architecture, it's a good size for our event, it's easy to get around, it's not crazy traffic.  It's a good pace for us."

Snell added that the architecture helped the decision to return to the Friendly City, as a great backdrop to this year's theme, "The Roaring 20s" and drawing on the city's history as "Lil Chicago" during the era.

"There is just so many interesting historic facts that when Moose Jaw was in the 20s, how it had grown and it was just such a great trading area for that part of Saskatchewan so it really flourished  in the 20s.  So I think it's really fitting."

The city could see roughly 200 visitors attending the International Antique Auto event, coming from all across Canada and the US and bring upwards of 100 unique antique vehicles that will be showcased at their Show and Shine on Sunday, from 10am until 2pm on Langdon Crescent.
