During the last month of the federal election campaign, candidates have covered a lot of topics they wanted to talk about.  This week, voters had a chance to ask Palliser candidates about topics you wanted to talk about.

The Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce hosted an all candidates forum Tuesday night and it was standing room only.  One of the questions asked on the floor was about what role each party would play when it comes to funding infrastructure in cities, such as water.

The Green Party's Larissa Shasko said it's very important to recognize the responsibility the federal government has. "The federal government has the broadest level of taxation and that means we need federal transfers to endure that our city's infrastructure can be repaired in the coming years."

Liberal Russell Collicott disagreed, saying everyone is responsible for fixing infrastructure. "Talking about broad range of taxation and how the federal government can have more money or can produce more money, 'cause apparently there are a folks that figure it just comes out of thing air, the fact of the matter is, we're all going to have to work on it together and it's going to have to be a collaborative approach.

Planning ahead was the goal for Noah Evanchuk who said the NDP has looked at the requests being made by mayors across the country. "The infrastructure deficit that we face in our country is striking. As you MP, my priority will be to make sure that we have a nation infrastructure strategy so we can deal with that problem ahead of time."

Conservative incumbent Ray Boughen says his party has been working on dealing with these issues since becoming government and pointed to a couple of projects in Palliser. "We spent some time and a great deal of money with the Avonlea folks doing an upgrade with their waste water system. We're looking at doing a project with Baildon in terms of water and some of the other smaller communities in Palliser. Ya, we need to do something about water and we are doing some thing about water."
