It appears the worst is over for the flu season.

The latest numbers available from the Saskatchewan Health Authority show there were just 11 new lab-confirmed cases of the flu in the province.

This is down substantially from the peak in December, when there were 358 new cases in a week.

So far this year, the flu is responsible for 11 deaths in Saskatchewan, and 59 ICU admissions.

The province does caution the numbers are an underestimate as not all people seek medical attention for the flu.

This flu season, there have been 2,156 lab-confirmed cases of the flu.
