There is now a place in Moose Jaw that you can shop for some new literature as well as pick out a new furry family member.

Just this week the Moose Jaw Humane Society announced some exciting news regarding their bookstore after seeing overwhelming interest according to Executive Director, Dana Haukaas.

"Our book store has been so popular, and we just usually do pop up bookstores in different spots around Moose Jaw. The past few times it has been up at the Exhibition Company and people just can't get enough of our bookstore so we decided that we would open it year round and the best place for us to do that, the most cost-effective place for us to do that is right here at the Humane Society," explained Haukaas.

With the store relocating to their shelter permanently, that means they have limited space to store and display items which is why they ask anyone planning to make donations to call first.

"We do have limited storage space, so if they can give us a call before they come that would be perfect. We'll walk them through what we take and we'd set up a time for them to bring it to the shelter."

Haukaas said the ideal situation would be that residents find books or DVDs to take home as well as their adoptable cats and dogs find their 'fur-ever' families, which is another reason they're offering daytime and some evening hours for their bookstore.

"We're going to be open Monday to Saturday 12-5pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays we'll be open until 8 pm and the bookstores will be open those hours year round."
