It was a rough middle of the week for some 30,000 residents of southeastern Saskatchewan as they were hit with a major power outage.

SaskPower sent out crews very late Tuesday night due to a transmission structure fire that caused the outage that stretched from Carlyle to the Manitoba border.

Crews worked into Wednesday to repair the damage that impacted communities like Alida, Oxbox, Redvers and more.

SaskPower has released the following update:

"Crews have been able to restore the majority of the power, but the remaining customer  in the Carievale, Carnduff, Alida, Alameda, Oxbow, Glen Ewen, Gainsborough, Redvers, and Carlyle, as well as surrounding area will be restored by 2:30 pm."

"We apologize for any inconvenience and we thank you for your patience at this time."
