Hub Meat Market wanted to give back to the community during these trying times and did so by donating 1,000 lbs. of lean ground beef to the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank this week.

Gene Dupuis, one of the owners of Hub Meat Market, explains why they made the donations.

“We’ve seen a lot of people in need through this COVID-19 (pandemic),” Dupuis said.

“A lot of people lost their employment, temporarily or in some cases it appears it may even be permanent, so we felt it was important to give back to the community.”

He went on to explain why they chose to donate ground beef.

“It’s a staple for any family’s diet in Saskatchewan, so we thought it would be a good time to do that,” Dupuis said.

During this time, the food bank is looking for monetary donations. Cheques can be dropped off in person or can be sent through the mail. Donations are also be e-transferred to endhunger@mjfoodbank.org or by visiting their website.
