It was an early morning start for the Moose Jaw Fire Department, as they responded to a call about an attic fire in a house at the corner of Monk Avenue and Hall Street West.

Fire crews rushed to the scene at 5:48 am Thursday and found the blaze crawling through the attic space.  While they were able to gain control quickly, preventing it from spreading to the living area, there was damage to the rest of the home from the smoke and water used to fight the fire.

No injuries have been reported and the cause is now under investigation.
