A brand new school year officially begins Thursday as students head back to class.

"We've got everything in place, we welcomed seven new teachers to our school division, most of them will be teaching in our Moose Jaw schools. They are excited (and) energetic, if they're any indication of what we can expect this year, it's going to be a high flying year," Said Geri Hall the Executive Director for the Holy Trinity School Division.

She said all schools in the division were given TLC over the last two months.

"The summer is a great time to take care of the maintenance issues that you can't do when the children are in the school and it doesn't make sense to do when they are in school. We've had work done on every school without any acceptation from roof sections being upgraded to interior updates. Everyone can expect a little bit of attention that has been given to all of our school facilities."

There are seven Holy Trinity Schools in Moose Jaw, and one each in Swift Current and Shaunavon.
