Blizzard conditions brought wind gusts over 90km/h to Moose Jaw on Tuesday. Serious wind damages usually start to happen with close to 90 kilometer-an-hour wind speeds. As a result of yesterday's storm many yards were littered with shingles and debris from neighbouring homes.

The freezing temperatures combined with wind and snow also left ice-covered roads and this morning saw many vehicles stranded at a standstill on the #1 Highway. While the high winds are expected to taper off later in the day they continue to cause visibility issues on the roads.

RCMP sent out a reminder to anyone who may have been stranded on the highways to stay with their vehicle, preserve cell phone battery and keep an eye on any vehicles that may be stranded around them. As snow accumulates it can block exhaust pipes - watch that vehicles in front of you don't have snow building up over their exhaust. A covered exhaust can result in a build up of carbon monoxide in the vehicle. Some of the early symptoms of CO poisoning are unexplained headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, disorientation, and lack of conscientiousness.
