Long time members and those involved in the fundraising over the past several years are looking forward to the changes.

The Hillcrest Golf Club in Moose Jaw has extended a request for proposals to the end of August in hopes of getting construction started on an expanded clubhouse.

General Manager of the Club Jasmine Cameron said it's going to expand numerous areas of the club.

"The expansion will go out south of our facilities that we have right now. Looking to have an enclosed deck area where we can have additional seating to host some of the larger events. We will have a little bit of a deck area that you can sit outside as well. And then of course the washroom facilities off the south west corner of the building."

Cameron said that the washroom facilities are a definite priority as golfers currently have to use the facilities in the old building which is now home to a local gymnastics club.

The golf club walked away from the old facility when the attached curling club left for the new Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre at Mosaic Place.

They also have plans to build a kitchen, which will allow them to utilize their building outside of the golfing season.

"We will have the opportunity to utilize our facilities all year round. Whether or not for smaller events, birthday parties, family reunions, that type of thing. Just looking to use our facilities more than just over the season."

Local and area contractors are currently being asked to bid on the project. For more information on the RFP and to place a bid, click here.
