It was a celebration for businesses and the City as High Street got its grand re-opening party.

Being called the "best road in Saskatchewan," after being voted the worst, the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce decided to put a positive spin on everything and hosted the get-together.

Residents, business owners, and representatives from various organizations all showed up for the celebration, but all were happy the street was open for various reasons. Many were happy for businesses.

"They were suffering really, they did. There was quite a few businesses [in trouble] so I'm glad it's open."

Others were happy that their vehicles wouldn't suffer anymore.

"It's nice to be able to come up and down this street again without having to worry about getting your car damaged."

The Moose Jaw and District Paramedics were the ones who probably benefited the most from the street being fixed.

They had to reroute whenever an emergency happened because of how bad the roads were.

"It's fantastic," paramedic Nicholas Hennink said. "It's way better for the patient's safety and comfort as well going down High Street."

While the event was in a parking lot, they did venture into the street for a quick ribbon cutting ceremony with business owners and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the Moose Jaw Warriors, and the Moose Jaw and District Paramedics.
