Thunderstorms hit hard in a number of locations across southern Saskatchewan Tuesday evening.

Regina recorded 40 mm of rain between 6 and 7 pm. The Albert Street underpass flooded, stranding a couple of motorists in high water, with reports of lightning striking multiple trees within the city.

Environment Canada collected 7 mm at their Moose Jaw weather station, 10 mm in Watrous, 3 mm for Saskatoon and 11 mm at Elbow.

Regina wasn’t the only area to get hit with severe weather on Tuesday. Hail reports came in from Leader while they have unconfirmed reports of a tornado northwest of Swift Current.  There was also a brief tornado touchdown in a field near White City.

A lot of the rain that fell was within a one hour time frame for each location.
