The Saskatchewan Government is warning about another scam that seems to be making its way across the province, this time involving driveway repair.

Salespeople are approaching residents offering to pave, patch or apply a protective treatment to their driveway.

The government is reminding people warning signs for not only this scam but others also. For example, if prices sound too good to be true - they probably are and that if it requires a large down payment, it may be a scam. Another telltale sign is if they use high-pressure sales tactics. An example from the government said they might use an “act now or lose out on a limited time offer” line.

There are plenty of ways to protect yourself from these scams by checking to see if they are licensed on FCAA411 or if they are listed in the Better Business Bureau directory If you do decide to go with the service if it seems legit, create a formal contract with them and don't hand over a blank check.
