The Salvation Army tries to make sure that no family in Moose Jaw goes hungry at Christmas and no kid goes without a toy and it's been a good year for them in striving to meet that goal.

Captain Laurie Reilly says they were able to help out close to 600 families this Christmas, "Seeing the adults come in and they were so thankful for all the toys and food that they got for their children, it was amazing.

"There was about 180 hampers that we prepared and we gave out 260 vouchers and we adopted out 155 families."

Reilly adds they also brought in $41,000 this year through their Christmas kettles and over $20,000 for the Times Hearld Christmas stocking fund.

Captain Laurie Reilly joined Rob Carnie on 800 CHAB's Heartland At Noon on Friday.
