Boaters who enjoy the waters of Lake Diefenbaker got some good news on Tuesday.  The boat launch at Douglas Provincial Park, which has not been in the water for three summers, is back in operation.

The dock will allow small boats and personal watercraft to take to the lake.  Projected water inflows into the lake are predicted to be high in the weeks ahead, and if those forecasts remain true, most larger watercraft should be able to use the dock soon as well.

Douglas Provincial Park is located 13 km south of Elbow on Highway 19.

Boaters are reminded that the lake remains shallow in some areas, so caution is necessary when approaching the dock.

Larger watercraft, and less experienced operators are encouraged to use the boat launch at the Elbow Harbor Marina.  There is also access to a boat launch on the north side of Tufts Bay, just outside Elbow.
