The 2020 edition of the annual Good Buy to Hunger Food Drive started up November 21, all in support of the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank.

What is Good Buy to Hunger? Marketing and Community Relations Manager with the Moose Jaw Coop, Michaela Turner, explains.

"It's $10 and it's a really easy way to donate. You don't have to pack anything, you don't have to transport anything, we do all of the work for you. It's just a straight donation to our cashiers at the till. There's about $18 worth of food in each bag, all the essentials for the Food Bank, and the need is really there this year."

Turner says, coming off of last year's record year, that they're hoping businesses can step up to help make this year even more successful.

"We know it's been a tough year for many businesses, but many businesses are still being really generous and we hope that they will contact us to come out to support us. Last year was a record year and the business community really came out strong. If a business is wanted to come on board, I ask that they give me a shout. We'll take any donation happily."

Every donation toward Good Buy to Hunger will also get your name submitted into a draw to win a holiday gift basket.

The fundraiser is typically held in conjunction with the CP Holiday Train, but that event has been cancelled. Instead, the 22nd annual Holiday Train will be airing a virtual concert on Facebook on December 12. The concert will feature performances by Serena Ryder, The Trews, JoJo Mason, Logan Staats, and Kelly Prescott.
