Stay Home.

That was the main message of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his daily media conference this morning

“I want to begin by recognizing that a lot of people have now been stuck at home for a week or more because of COVID-19. If that’s starting to take a toll, that’s understandable, but we cant afford to stop now. I want to be clear; social distancing, physical distancing, is the single best way to keep the people around you safe.”

There have been many people in the community who have only been ‘partially-quarantined’, as its still fairly common to see the streets and sidewalks busy with people going about their normal day-to-day lives.

It cant be stressed enough that social distancing is the best way for not only our city, but for our province and country to fight the spread of COVID-19.

“It means keeping 2 metres between yourself and someone else. It means avoiding groups. It means staying home as much as possible. If you choose to ignore that advice and if you choose to get together with people or go to crowded places, you’re not just putting yourself at risk, you’re putting others at risk too.”

The federal government announced Monday as well that they will be launching a $30-million ad campaign aimed at advising Canadians how to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The ads will begin showing today.

“Enough is enough. Go home and stay home”
