The holiday season hits Mosaic Place this weekend as the Moose Jaw Warriors host the Regina Pats for Teddy Bear Toss Night.

The tradition goes back well over a decade here in Moose Jaw and Warriors Director of Business Operations Cory Nyhagen says it's not just about the stuffed animals anymore. The event has grown into another way to support the efforts of the Salvation Army in keeping our neighbours warm at this time of the year.

"With records being broken in excesses of 35,000 bears... some of it has changed to become more mitts, toques and scarves that young people are in need of, especially with the weather."

If you plan to make a donation Saturday night, we're asked to put the stuffed animals, toques and mitts into a plastic bag before tossing them on the ice just to keep them clean and dry.
