It’s two great fundraisers in one day. Today the Highway for Heroes Car Show and concert out at 15-Wing, then the Help For Heroes Airshow this afternoon.

The car show had around 300 cars last year and this year they hope to double those numbers.

The concert will feature “The Uncoolas” and it’s all to raise funds for veterans and runs from 11 am to 4 pm.

Then, the Help For Heroes Air show will kick off after the car show at the Municipal Airport, in support of first responders and veterans suffering job-related PTSD.

The airshow will feature a CT-155 Hawk, a CF-18 Hornet, a CC-138 Twin Otter, and 3 CT-114 Tutor jets, all performing stunts and tricks to raise funds for first responders and veterans.

"I've definitely got heroes, and those are the first responders and veterans. All these guys who are dealing with some tough job's everyday, not just once in a while, but every single day," said Brent Handy, the airshow coordinator.

Two great events and all for even greater causes, and they only happen today (September 16th).
