Five deaths, 162 new cases of COVID-19, and 116 recoveries were announced Saturday.

All of the deaths were in the 80 plus age group, with three located in Regina, one in Saskatoon and one in the southeast. 

Seven of the new cases are in the south-central zone. 52 are in Regina, 27 in the far northwest, 23 in Saskatoon, 18 in the central-east, 13 in the northwest, nine in the northeast, five are in the far northeast, three in the north-central zone and one in the south east. Nine cases are pending resident information. 

1,548 cases are considered active.

Of the 37 cases located in the south-central zone, 35 are in the sub-region 'south-central 2', which is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area. 

151 people are in hospital, with 135 receiving inpatient care, and 16 are in intensive care.

Vaccine Update.

There were 5,211 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 75,501. To date, this is the highest one-day total for vaccine delivery in the province.

The 5,211 doses were administered in the Saskatoon (254), Regina (286), Far North West (33), North Central (869), North West (918), Central East (1202), Central West (403), South East (570) and South West (676) zones.  Multiple data corrections were made on February 24 and February 25 in the Regina, North West, North Central, North East, Central West and South West zones.
