All family members are safe after a house fire thanks to local first responders.

The Moose Jaw Fire Department, along with other emergency officials, responded to a call on the 1000 block of Hall Street for a possible structure fire around 9:15 am on Tuesday morning. Three apparatus, two command vehicles, and Deputy Fire Chief Mike Russell were deployed and upon arrival, crews jumped into action.

The fire was discovered to be outside of the home and thanks to quick action from firefighters they were able to contain it.

"Crews did a quick knockdown and did a great job getting the fire under control right away. We continued with clean up, we did an interior search to make sure everything was fine and once everything was okay we released the crews," detailed Deputy Chief Russell.

"At the time there were no injuries reported and other than that the homeowner had a pet inside that was brought out by our fire crews; everything else was fine and the pet survived."

Deputy Chief Russell also noted that they don't currently have a total of estimated damage or a cause of the fire as the matter is currently still under investigation.
