Time is running out to help cats and dogs in need, that utilize the Moose Jaw Humane Society.

The local animal shelter hosts an annual fundraiser to help with operational costs.

"It's the last week of our book store and it will be open to Saturday this week from 9am to 5:30pm," explained Dana Haukaas, Administrative Assistant and Event Coordinator for the Humane Society. "Every dollar raised stays right here in Moose Jaw to help the stray animals in our community."

Haukaas added that there's a few cats at the book sale who are eligible for adoption keeping readers company as they look through the selection.

"Adult cats are $25 and a kitten who is not yet spayed or neutered is $90 and that's a deposit. So, when you take them in at 6 months to have them fixed, the vet will take that $90 off the bill."

She also added that there is more than just books for sale at their location at the Exhibition Grounds, they have DVD's, CD's and even records.
