Earlier this month, the Saskatchewan Festival of Words announced the final details and presenters of their annual event.

They held a launch party and shared who the final authors were who had yet to be known, and what the schedule will look like for the 22nd annual Festival of Words in the Friendly City.

Residents were told a while ago that Karl Subban would be in attendance, talking about his book the "Subban Plan for Success in School, Life and Hockey," as he has three sons in the National Hockey League. Amanda Farnel, Operations Coordinator for the Festival, said there will be plenty of big names in the literature world here in Moose Jaw.

"We have a lot of award winners this year," said Farnel. "The biggest prizes in Canadian Literature are the Giller Prize, the Governor General's Award and the Stephen Leacock's Award for Humour. We have all the winners from the past year coming to the Festival this year."

"Everyone seems really excited about it; we have a few pretty big names on (the schedule), we're pretty happy that we could brings those people in."

As with any large scale event, there needs to be a lot of helping hands, and Farnel said they typically see quite a few people offering their times for the numerous items on the schedule.

"We have over 50 events during the four days of the festival; we usually get about 100 volunteers coming out to help us."
