A Moose Jaw family will be holding a family fun night on Friday in support of the convoy that is scheduled to roll into Ottawa.

The convoy, that rolled through Moose Jaw on Monday, is protesting mandates, it was sparked by the mandates that came into effect on Saturday, barring truckers unvaccinated against COVID 19 from crossing the Canada/U.S. border without spending 14 days in quarantine.

This event is being put on by the Dombowsky family from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will be taking place at Battle Creek Adventure Park and Prairie Storm Paintball owned by Levi Dombowsky. Food will be supplied by Bernie and Charlotte Dombowsky from Charlotte’s Catering.

“It's a family event, so we want to encourage people to bring out their children. Now I want to stress that this is not a protest. It's just celebrating the freedom that we have as Canadians,” Bernie said.

The event will include a bonfire where folks can cook hotdogs and roast marshmallows, and a big screen will be set up to watch the convoy as it rolls through towns and arrives in Ottawa.

“We want to encourage people to bring out a flag, since we're right beside the number one highway, we can be waving on and encouraging the truckers that supply the needs for Canadian families every day. We just want to show them appreciation as well,” Bernie said.

This event will be free of charge.
