Tourism Moose Jaw held their Annual General Meeting yesterday, where they discussed last year and what 2018 holds in store for the city.

Moose Jaw had a great year for tourists and locals alike in 2017 – hosting One Horse Town, Hometown Hockey, and their most successful Sidewalk Days yet.

Executive Director of Tourism Moose Jaw, Jacki L'Heureux-Mason, said the trolley will play a big role in the new year, and that they have a few new tours planned.

"We have a couple of new tours so what we're doing - first of all is working on a children's tour, so what this is, is the 'stinky creepy funny' things about Moose Jaw, so anything that a kid would wonder about. We're going to talk about bugs, even about the sewer system. Just different things kids between 5-11 might be interested in."

The trolley went through extensive renovations last year as well.

"We were able to renovate the exterior of the trolley; we got a good chunk of the old rotting wood off. Changing it to a diesel operation now will allow us to run tours even longer."

It's not just the trolley that will be improved for the coming year. Tourism Moose Jaw also hopes to boost their presence in downtown Moose Jaw.

"We're expanding our downtown program. We're going to be having a more vibrant colourful presence downtown and really working that ambassador program. Being the official tourism purveyor in Moose Jaw, we want to make sure people are getting the accurate information they need about our downtown, and make sure they are working with our member organizations of which so many of our businesses downtown and around Moose Jaw are members."
