It's a busy time for students in the Prairie South and Holy Trinity School Divisions as they prepare for exams starting at the end of this week.

Janice Lamb is a teacher at Riverview Collegiate on South Hill and she says that in addition to studying, self care is also very important.

"The easiest thing to do is to care for yourself consistently. Make sure you're sleeping well and keeping hydrated because those two things have a big impact on your ability to think and process information."

"It's best to do it [study] over a longer period of time. A few days of studying for a short amount of time is better for you than trying to cram it all in the night before."

Lamb also suggests students study in a setting that will replicate that of the exam

"Try and replicate the situation of the exam. If you know you won't be able to listen to music when you're writing your exam, you should not listen to music when studying. If you can study in the room you will be writing the exam in, that will really help with recalling information as well."
