West-central and southern Saskatchewan is being warned of precipitation that's moving over top of the Prairies.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for many areas, including Moose Jaw and surrounding RMs. A low pressure system will be moving over the Friendly City and surrounding communities at a slow pace bringing along showers that will transition to snow throughout the evening on Monday.

With the temperature dropping, Meteorologists are also warning residents of the risk of freezing rain. The expected snowfall is projected to be around 5-10cm, but some areas could see upwards of 10cm depending on their location.

They predict that things will clear up on Tuesday evening as the system continues through the rest of the province.
