A report released by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) earlier today shed some light into the cause of a train derailment near Gull Lake last year.

According to the report, the train experienced an undesired emergency brake application at Mile 26 of the Maple Creek subdivision near Antelope, Saskatchewan.

The incident occurred on October 3, 2017, around 8 p.m. when 37 cars carrying potash derailed causing damage to about 1 kilometre of track.

TBS says there were no injuries, and no dangerous goods were involved.
