Standing at 18 feet tall and 8 feet wide, the giant 'Light Up the Holidays Tree' has been set up once again at the Dr FH Wigmore Hospital, thanks to a large donation from a Moose Jaw resident.

(L-R) Executive Director of the MJHF Kelly McElree, General Manager at Murray GM Charles Vanden Broek, Chairman of the MJHF James Murdock

Charles Vanden Broek, General Manager at Murray GM in Moose Jaw, bid $18,500 toward the Moose Jaw Health Foundation for the exclusive naming rights. This is the fourth year in a row Vanden Broek has won the auction to name the tree;

"We're blessed to have the hospital not only for Moose Jaw but for all the residents in Southern Saskatchewan. When you come to this facility its first class. For us at the dealership its a chance to give back."

Vanden Broek says its not only fulfilling for himself and his staff to give back, but fulfilling as well to see the joy it brings many of the residents and staff;

"Its amazing how many small kids and people that work here, and people unfortunately in the hospital, get a chance to come down and stand by the tree and look at it. Especially the small kids - they love it. They come out of the cafeteria and look way up. Its a big ol'tree."

Kelly McElree, Executive Director of the Health Foundation talks about what it means to have the tree up in the hospital;

"Its a wonderful feeling. Especially when the kids come in, you see them walk by and look up. Its 18-feet tall, they've never seen anything like it. Those big bright smiles. We're really thankful to Charles and Murray GM for sponsoring this each and every year."

The 'Light Up the Holidays Tree' is designed after the famous tree in Rockefeller Plaza in New York, and is covered with 2900 LED lights for patients and families to enjoy.

The money bid by Vanden Broek and Murray GM for naming rights will go toward the Moose Jaw Health Foundations diagnostic imaging campaign to purchase a new digital C-Arm unit for orthopedic surgery.
