There was another train derailment in southwestern Saskatchewan, the third this summer, but this one was massive.

At least 33 cars have jumped the tracks just east of Swift Current near the community of Waldeck but some reports are indicating the number of cars could be closer to 60 as rail officials continue to investigate.  There were no immediate reports of leaks or problems with the cars, other than the giant mess of containers.

Reports from people in the area indicate it could have been a plow wind that set off a chain reaction of cars tipping over as a storm system moving through Thursday evening.

This is the third derailment this summer for the southwest.  The last two were just west of Moose Jaw near the Besant campgrounds.
