Mayor Fraser Tolmie says he's happy to see the Moose Jaw Downtown Association bringing an updated vision to the Notorious City's downtown core.

"I really am impressed with administration actually picking up with that vision because the downtown core is looking really nice in my opinion, the flower pots are looking good, the streets are much cleaner than they have been in past years, flags are up, we're taking pride."

After a ten year hiatus, the association was reformed this year to bring business owners and community members together to not only beautify the city's core, but spur economic growth by attracting new businesses. Tolmie says it's a win-win for the Notorious City and the folks who visit.

"We want to bring business in, and that's what I see these people doing, drawing people down. Shopping and coming down to our downtown main street is about having a good experience."

Tolmie himself has been part of the beautification process this year, participating in garbage clean up with City Manager, Jim Puffalt.

Overall, Tomie says he's excited about the renewed excitement the association is bringing to Moose Jaw.

"I'm seeing a re-energized group of people that really want to attract businesses to the downtown, really highlight what we have in our downtown core."
