Just over a week after a bear was spotted in the area, Saskatchewan Provincial Parks have now sent out a dangerous animal advisory for the Douglas Provincial Park area.

The alert stretches all the way from Douglas Provincial Park to Lake Diefenbaker.

Stretching from the whole of Douglas, all the way to the East side of Lake Diefenbaker, the warning is going out after sighting in the Douglas parks core area, campground and day use areas, picnic sites and walking trails.

Anyone staying at Douglas Park is reminded to make sure they keep their campsite free of items that could attract bears. This means all coolers, food, pots and pans, pet food should be stored in your vehicle, RV, or secured somewhere safe to make sure no bears come into the area.

It's also important to make sure pets are not left unattended. Sask Provincial Parks are also asking any bear sightings to be reported to Park Watch at 1-800-667-1788.
