With all of the talk about the federal election on Monday, many have forgotten about another important event. Tax deadline day. But, what if you can't get your return in the mail by midnight on Monday?
"That depends whether you owe or you don't," said Canada Revenue Agency Manager of Communications Debbie Johnson. "If you don't owe any additional taxes for the year, there's no financial penalties. However, it may delay you getting you benefits, and by benefits I mean things like the child taxes credit and the goods and services tax credit."
The CRA has extra staff on this weekend if you need some help with your return.
