With daylight saving time coming to an end on November 1st, some businesses and individuals may have to make adjustments even though Saskatchewan does not observe the time change.

Those who frequently travel, do business, or have friends or family in Alberta have been able to keep the same schedules since Alberta moved their clocks ahead one hour at the beginning of March.

As of this Sunday, Saskatchewan will be one hour ahead of Alberta as they turn their clocks back one hour. As Manitoba turns their clocks back, our neighbours to the east will be back on the same time as us here in Saskatchewan, until at least March.

In Saskatchewan, it has been reported that some companies change their employee’s schedules to match the time change within Alberta to ensure load and delivery times stay constant across the company. A few other places across the country also forego changing their clocks including towns in Nunavut, Northern Ontario, Quebec’s far east region, and multiple locations within B.C.

The time change in the neighboring provinces will take effect on Sunday, Nov. 1st at 2 a.m. with clocks falling back to 1 a.m.
