It has been in use, to great success across Saskatchewan since March of 2019, when it was first launched as a pilot project. Now, the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network is getting bigger with the inclusion of a number of municipal police services.

The Crime Watch Advisory network was introduced as a way for communities in the province to have awareness of crime happening around them and, in their community, as well as being able to report tips to police. It was first launched with the RCMP, but the announcement this week brings a number of municipal services into the program.

The Estevan Police Service was already a part of the network, the first municipal police force to join, and it is now joined by the Moose Jaw Police Service, the Weyburn Police Service, the Prince Albert Police Service, the Corman Park Police Service, the Wilton Police Service, the Dalmeny Police Service and the Ministry of Environment-Conservation Officer Service.

Residents of Saskatchewan can sign up for the advisories through the Everbridge mobile app. Advisories can also be sent via text message and email. You can find out how to sign up on the Saskatchewan Crime Watch website.
