As the weather warms, the outdoor rinks begin to close and catch basins start to clog.

Thanks to the above-zero temperatures to start off the new week, city workers are closely watching various areas of the city.

From cleaning up the outdoor facilities to monitoring the effects of melting snow and ice, many workers can be spotted throughout town donning orange vests and driving green trucks.

A major focus is actively clearing plugged catch basins around the city. Residents who notice problem areas are encouraged to report them to the city's Engineering department.

Not all rinks have been closed yet; however, the Parks and Recreation department is out inspecting the rinks to ensure the public's safety. The nets have already been removed from West Heath and Regal Heights rinks, which have been shut down for the season.
