The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan is continuing to decline. Sunday afternoon, the provincial government reported there were 48 new cases and 96 recoveries. This brought the number of active cases of COVID-19 down to 549, the lowest since October 23rd.

Of the new cases reported on Sunday, nine were in the Regina area, six in the Far North West and North Central zones, five in the Saskatoon and Saskatoon zones, three in the Central East zone, two in the South East zone and one in the Far North Central, Central West and South Central zones. There are seven cases that are pending residence information.

Across Saskatchewan, there are 77 people in hospital receiving treatment for COVID-19. Of those, 10 are in intensive care units. The seven-day average for new cases is now 48, the lowest since October 23rd.

The update Sunday afternoon reported 22,308 doses of COVID-19 vaccines being administered. 70 percent of those over the age of 12 have received their first dose of a vaccine, and 36 percent of those over 12 have now received both of their doses.

With just under 1,300 COVID-19 tests performed, the provincial government reminded residents to get tested to assist with the monitoring of cases in Saskatchewan, particularly variants of concern.
