Kim's Taekwondo is advising parents that a student who later tested positive for COVID-19 attended their Little Dragons 2 class on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The child did not feel sick at the time but developed flu-like symptoms in the following days. They went for testing and the results came back positive on Sunday.

Instructor Nathan Douglas says that numerous cleanings took place before the results of the test were even known. Still, they are taking precautions.

"We plan on going down there to do a deep cleaning and sanitization. Then we plan on resuming classes on Tuesday."

Douglas says that due to the nature of the class and their staggered start times, the risk of transmission is considered low.

"That particular class was a short one. There wasn't very much interaction between the students. It was done in a static training session. So, there would have been very minimal contact, if any, with that student."

Everyone who attended the class are advised to self-monitor for 14 days.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority also warned the public that an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 visited Heritage Insurance here in Moose Jaw on September 3 between 2:30pm and 3:30pm.

Officials are asking anyone who was there at that time to self-isolate as well if they have had, or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
