When it comes to health care, time can save lives and when a surgery is delayed because a piece of equipment is being used elsewhere, that becomes a problem.  Starting Thursday at 6am, the 12th Annual 800 CHAB Family First Radiothon will look to alleviate some of that pressure. We're trying to raise $125,000 to buy more equipment for the Dr. Wigmore Regional Hospital.

Director of OR and Recovery Lindsey Cameron says they did over 3300 surgeries last year, putting pressure on their equipment's availability. "We have the potential to do even more here and the capacity to serve the larger community around here, especially with the amalgamation."

"As we've become the Saskatchewan Health Authority, we'll probably be serving more outlying communities as well, so I think we really need to look forward into advancing the capacity that we have here in Moose Jaw."

We'll be asking for your donations as we broadcast live for 36 hours from the hospital through Friday afternoon when we reveal the final total at 6pm on 800 CHAB.
