You gas bill could take a dip, pending approve from the province.

Furnaces have been whirling around Saskatchewan for about a week now, but SaskEnergy has just applied to drop the the commodity rate for natural gas by about a dollar per gigajoule. Which will save the average residential customer about $80 per year. A small cut to the delivery rate is also being proposed.

The proposed changes now go before the Rate Review Panel, but while they wait for a decision, SaskEnergy will ask the Panel to support an interim rate of $2.95/GJ, effective November 1st.

This would allow customers to take advantage of lower rates during the winter heating season.
