A group of concerned citizens will be holding a town hall meeting on Tuesday to discuss the future of the Valley View Centre property.

The Department of Central Services opened a Request for Proposal for the sale of the land on Nov. 13 which closes Dec. 11. Concerns have been raised by members of the opposition parties during Question Period that the sale has been rushed. Sask Party representatives, however, have explained that preparations for the sale have been ongoing for a number of years.

Stacey Landin is helping to organize the event. She said the concerns are mainly about the land.

"It's a pretty important area to the ecology of the area and we're not certain that it's been properly researched by the government that's selling it, and of course we would have no idea who might plan to buy that land,"

The meeting will take place at the Moose Jaw Union Centre Main Hall from 7 to 8:30 pm.
