A batch of extremely cold air has settled in and it's going to have an impact on New Year's Eve Celebrations.

The southwest corner of the province, starting at Moose Jaw is not under the cold warning but we're still going to be cold. Weather officials are saying our area of the province will only hit -35 with the wind chill while the rest of the province is being warned about hitting -40 at times.

Officials are recommending that you stay inside if you can and watch out for each other as the risk of frostbite is very real. We're also reminded to pay attention to our furry friends and limit their time outside.

A warming trend will start to move in late Tuesday and take us to +1 by Wednesday then all the way to +5 by the end of the week.
