It was announced last week that select pharmacies in the province would be taking part in a pilot project to help the province with vaccine distribution...and yesterday, we found out four locations in Moose Jaw would be involved.

The Superstore Pharmacy, Safeway Pharmacy, TLC Pharmacy, and Moose Jaw Co-op Pharmacy located on Thatcher Drive will all be taking part, and are set to receive vaccines starting Thursday.

Marketing and Community Relations Manager with the Moose Jaw Co-op, Michaela Turner.

"We are taking bookings, but we were swamped even before the news was released so, please be patient. Our team at the Hillcrest Pharmacy is working really hard to get everyone booked in as much as they can right now. They're currently taking bookings but it's filling up very fast so we appreciate the community's patience with this process. There are going to be more vaccines coming over the next few weeks and few months, so more to come."

Turner says that the Co-op will be receiving a small shipment of the Pfizer vaccine and will be administering them starting Friday.

"The vaccines have been safely administered to millions of people around the world, so I encourage everyone to take the first vaccine that is available when you’re eligible to receive it."

Eligibility at pharmacies will follow the same criteria established by the provincial government, with everyone aged 40 and up being eligible starting Friday.

To book an appointment, you can call the Moose Jaw Co-op's Hillcrest Pharmacy at 306-692-2224. You can also visit Moose Jaw Co-op's Facebook page for updates regarding the rollout.
