City crews are trying to beat the snow and get as much road work done as possible

As the weather starts to shift to the colder side, the city is trying to get the majority of issues fixed before the weather takes a turn for the worst.

Mayor Deb Higgins says the CPR Damn is well under construction, the East Feeder Line work continues to be worked on, the city has done 25 blocks worth of resurfacing which is about 90% of what needs to be done.

Another big task that was at hand was the never ending issues on Henry Street something that crews recently have started to work on, work was delayed because of the Hospital Construction being done.

"There's a pile of work that has to be done... I will agree that there probably could be a little better coordination between the city and contractors that we're using." explains Higgins. "While I apologize, I want as much work done as we can with the nice weather and that's what we need to do."

Last week, the detour for South Hill caused by infrastructure work on Main Street South was, itself detoured because crews repaving the Sioux Bridge decided they couldn't wait any longer.  With the news of rain and a cold front moving in, they got to work on the one day project.
